AOA Cars or FW cabins? Previous panelist says smoking allowed on cabin patios. Is this still the case? Concerned abt smoke smell. Is it longer to get to parks from cabins due to large size, extra buses, etc? Plan to dine and spend most time in parks.

    Hi Jennifer,

Wow, you have a difficult decision to make between Disney's Art of Animation Resort and the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.  If I were to make this decision I would choose the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  There are several reasons why:

    1.  I love the idea of staying at Disney's newest resort.  The construction updates on this resort make it look like it is imaginatively themed and incredibly fun!

    2.  You can take a direct bus from Disney's Art of Animation Resort to any of the four Disney theme parks.  Current plans suggest that Disney's Art of Animation Resort will not share a bus with any other resort.  By contrast, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort shares its buses with other resorts at times.  Also, you will need to take an internal bus at Fort Wilderness to reach the bus stops where park-bound buses depart.

    3.  Recently smoking has been permitted on cabin porches, but not in the cabins themselves. Always check with Disney regarding smoking policies as they are subject to change.

If, however, you hoped to cook some of your own meals while on vacation, the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are a better option.  The family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort have only a kitchenette whereas the cabins have a full kitchen.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either option.  Good luck with your decision!
