Is there anywhere in the parks for a relaxing break? We are traveling with our 5yr old daughter and 2 yr old son. we are hoping not to return to our hotel for nap time. We are only at disney for 2 days with park hoppers passes.

    Hi Alicia,

While the Disney parks are known for their fun and excitement, there are plenty of places where you can kick back and relax for awhile.  When we took our son for his first trip to Walt Disney World he was five.  At that age he was still taking naps so mid-day breaks were crucial to the success of our trip.  We simply found quiet, cool places to sit with him while he slept in his stroller.  Sounds like you have a similar plan.

In the Magic Kingdom, take a break at the Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square.  There's an often-overlooked second floor to this quick service restaurant.  It has low lighting and typically very little traffic.  And, of course, it's air-conditioned so it's a perfect place for your kids to rest for a bit.

In Epcot, find a park bench along World Showcase if the temperatures aren't too high.  It's a fun place to people watch while your little ones sleep.  Another option would be to hang out on the second floor of the Electric Umbrella after the lunch rush.

I love the shaded seating areas surrounding Flame Tree BBQ at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  After the lunch crowds pass, it's a quiet, restful spot.  You might also want to consider attending a performance of Finding Nemo during nap time.  Although the show is delightful, my son loves to nap in this comfortable, air-conditioned theater.

Finally, you can grab a restful, shady spot at the Studio Catering Company at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Then, when your little ones are rested they can go right next door to explore the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area.

Enjoy your time at Walt Disney World!
