Aloha Poppy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How exciting that you are only a few weeks away from the start of your Walt Disney World vacation. It's the perfect time to make sure every detail is in place.
Isn't Stitch so much fun? My children adore that mischievous blue guy. You are correct that the attraction,
Stitch's Great Escape is not currently operational in the Magic Kingdom Park. Stitch has in fact escaped! He does return at times, and can usually be found greeting guests in Tomorrowland. Please check the
My Disney Experience App on the day of your visit for exactly when and where he will be making an appearance.
In addition, as you mentioned, you can meet Lilo, Stitch, and two of their friends (generally Mickey Mouse and Pluto, but these are subject to change) at the
Best Friends Breakfast Featuring Lilo & Stitch at 'Ohana in
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I love this character meal because it is served family-style, and you never have to worry about missing a character encounter when you are visiting a buffet. The character interaction here is always fun and engaging.
My favorite tip is to make an Advanced Dining Reservation towards the end of the restaurant's breakfast hours. Because the breakfast period extends until noon, I like to spend the morning at the Magic Kingdom, then take the monorail to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for an 11:30 or later seating. We enjoy the delicious breakfast platters (which we consider our lunch for that day), and relax as the restaurant winds down for the morning. As guests start to clear out of the restaurant, we usually get to see the characters a second time. My kids love the extra attention from Lilo, Stitch, and their friends!
I hope you have a magical Walt Disney World vacation next month, and if you see Stitch, tell him I say aloha!
Mahalo!
