Well, I have some great news, you won’t have to travel down Route 66 to Radiator Springs because you can find him and some of his fellow cars right here at the
Walt Disney World Resort.
Currently, Lightning McQueen can be found at the
Art of Animation Resort. This resort offers a storybook landscape themed to classics such as Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and, of course, Cars. As a matter of fact, my family and I were just at Disney World a few months ago and decided to explore this resort since we had never been. It was absolutely amazing. Here, you'll feel like you’ve stepped into the movie Cars. As you enter the Radiator Springs themed area of family suites, you will get to see some of your favorite Cars like Flo, Luigi, Guido, and Tow Mater. Parked outside the Cars Family Suites, life-sized Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera provide perfect picture-taking opportunities for the entire family. Now, this is not a meet-and-greet like many of the characters you will find in the parks; he is a car after all, but I think you will be ecstatic with this experience.
So you might be asking yourself, "How do I get to the Art of Animation Resort?” There are a few different ways you can get to this resort so I’m going to go over my two favorites. The first way is to take any bus from one of the four parks or Disney Springs, as the buses do not offer resort-to-resort transportation. My absolute favorite way, though, is to take the
Disney Skyliner. As a matter of fact, my family and I were just there for Thanksgiving and decided to visit the resort since it’s one of the few we hadn't seen yet, so we took the Disney Skyliner. The Disney Skyliner offers amazing scenic views high above the resorts and over Hourglass Lake. I think you will love it as much as we did.
