Hi Carrie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to help with your planning question.
Isn't the Disney Visa Card magical? Grocery shopping is just a little more fun when I can pay with a card displaying Mickey Mouse and friends. When I vacation in Walt Disney World, I typically use my Disney Rewards Redemption Card on food and beverage purchases. On my last trip, I was able to treat my family to several meals just by using Disney Rewards!
On a recent trip, in the excitement of packing, I accidentally left my Disney Rewards Redemption Card at home. Fortunately, I was able to pick one up at the
Guest Relations Welcome Center at Disney Springs while we were enjoying some dining there on the evening of our arrival. If
Disney Springs isn't on the itinerary early in your vacation, simply visit a
Guest Relations window at one of the four theme parks to secure your redemption card. Of course if time allows, you can easily
order a redemption card online or over the phone before your trip. I have found this process to take about a week, so plan accordingly.
Disney Rewards Redemption Card in hand, you are free to spend you earned rewards however you choose. In general,
you are able redeem rewards in any Walt Disney World location that accepts credit cards. If you are a guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, another option is to use your
MagicBand for resort room charges, and then use the Disney Rewards Redemption Card at the front desk of your resort to pay down charges periodically. I frequently do this to minimize what I carry in the theme parks.
Carrie, before your vacation, I urge you to explore all of the
available perks that Disney Visa cardholders can enjoy at the Walt Disney World Resort. Keep in mind that these perks can change, so check back right before your trip. My personal favorite perk is the Disney Character Experience that is currently located in both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Last summer my children enjoyed a delightful, personal encounter with Minnie Mouse and Pluto at the Disney Visa Photo Spot, located adjacent to
Journey Into Imagination With Figment in Epcot. If you have a
Star Wars fan in your group, be sure to visit the
Star Wars Character Experience located in
Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I hope you enjoy using those Disney Rewards! If you have any further questions as your vacation approaches, we are happy to help.
See ya real soon!
