Bonnie from OH Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Is there anytime in April when it is not so busy? I didn't think many schools were out for summer yet.

Hey Howdy Hey Bonnie and welcome to planDisney fellow Buckeye!

I am excited to hear that you are thinking of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth this coming spring! Springtime is my favorite time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for many reasons. Before we get too far into all there is to look forward to, let's talk about theme park attendance.

Bonnie, you have it correct that depending on the time of the month, crowds in Walt Disney World may change. There are many crowd calendars out there you can search for that do fairly good jobs at projecting crowd expectations. You can do an internet search for "Walt Disney World Crowd Calendar" and you will be able to find several that may help you set your expectations accordingly.

Some of the calendars that we use for our trips, do show a dip in attendance towards the middle to end of April. Typically Disney is also aware of times such as these and coordinates events to help minimize downtime in the parks. You may find that mid to end of April may see reduced crowds however you will also see RunDisney events scheduled and Cheerleading competitions. These events usually do come with a slight bump in crowds but overall nothing like during spring break time for schools. As long as you are planning to visit towards the end of April you should be in good shape from a crowd standpoint. Some of the busier times will be on the weekends as locals will be visiting, so having Magic Kingdom during the week may also ensure lower crowd levels.

Another huge hit with locals you will find over at EPCOT. The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be going on during your vacation. This spectacular celebration of a new growing season and warmer weather has the park decked out in its springtime best with topiaries, flowers and garden decor throughout the park. You will also find some delicious food and drink offerings throughout the park and you should make some time to try some of these offerings! This festival also has Garden Rocks Concert Series entertainment throughout the festival which is a fun time to experience. Depending on the name of the band, you might also find higher crowds with local residents wanting to experience these events.

I hope this information helps set expectations for crowds. Overall, during April you should find a more pleasant experience with crowd levels in the parks which should add up to a Magical trip. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!

    To Infinity and Beyond,
