Hi David, and welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
Like you, I’m always looking for ways to stretch my budget a little further when visiting
Walt Disney World while still fully immersing myself in all the incredible experiences, dining, and merchandise that make each trip special. Over the years, I’ve found a few simple ways to save a bit here and there that really add up over the course of a vacation.
First, I’d recommend checking out the
Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page on the Walt Disney World website. This page is constantly updated with promotions for resort stays, ticket packages, and sometimes even dining offers, depending on the time of year.
Next, consider purchasing discounted Disney Gift Cards from retailers like warehouse clubs or major department stores. Even if you only save a few dollars per card, stacking them together can lead to meaningful savings when paying off your resort stay or your room charges. In our family, we like to use those savings as our “souvenir fund” or to cover a special sit-down meal during our trip.
If you visit Disney often, becoming an Annual Passholder can really pay off. Beyond access to the parks,
Annual Passholders receive discounts on select dining, merchandise, and recreation experiences throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
Another option is the
Disney Visa Card by Chase. Cardholders receive discounts at many Disney-owned shops and restaurants, and you’ll also earn Disney Reward Dollars that can be redeemed on merchandise, dining, or even resort stays.
Lastly, little things like the Refillable Resort Mugs and Refillable Popcorn Buckets can go a long way toward savings, especially if you’re staying for a week or longer. Unlimited refills of coffee, tea, and soda at your resort and discounted popcorn refills in the parks make those mid-day breaks a bit easier on your wallet.
David, these are just a few ways to make your Disney dollars go a little further. Take advantage of a few, or all, of these opportunities, and you’ll see how affordable a memorable Walt Disney World vacation can be. If you’d like help building a savings strategy based on your travel plans, I’d be happy to help you with that too, just
send another question my way!
