Is there anything specific that a resort guest must do to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours in the evening? For example, if we eat dinner at a resort and then go to the Magic Kingdom when it's open late, can we still get in?

    Hi Beth!

I think that you are going to be excited because the great news is that just by being a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort you are entitled to both Morning and Evening Extra Magic Hours! People who are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort do not have this benefit.

All you have to do is use your "Key to the World Card"  (this is your Room Key and it has your Park Tickets on it) to get into any of the four Theme Parks during Extra Magic Hours at anytime during the Extra Magic Hours time period.  So for example, even if you show up 1 hour before the Evening Extra Magic Hours ends at the Magic Kingdom, you still will be able to get in for that last hour.  During the Extra Magic Hours you may be asked to show your "Key to the World Card" to verify that you are a Resort Guest so it is important that everyone in your party have their own "Key to the World Card" which contains their Park Tickets with them.

I hope that you have some magical Extra Magic Hours on your next trip to Walt Disney World!
