Is there anything special for cancer survivors

Hi Lynn! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by and sending your question to us.

Congratulations on being a cancer survivor! I'm so happy to hear you are well! As a cancer survivor, going to Disney Parks holds a special meaning for me every time I visit. The Disneyland Resort is such a magical place and visiting is the perfect way to celebrate! When you arrive, be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. There, you can receive a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button that can be personalized to show off your celebration. While there isn't anything else in particular besides this for cancer survivors, I have some suggestions for other ways you can make your visit special.

My family and I treat our annual visit like it's one big celebration of life and happiness to recognize the hard time we went through with my cancer diagnosis and recovery. My advice is to celebrate in all the ways that will make it fun for you! I say, ride all of the attractions, eat all of the snacks, and buy all of the souvenirs your heart desires! My favorite way to end the day is to have a nice meal and see some entertainment afterward. You can make advanced dining reservations up to 60 days before you arrive. You can even add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake in advance to your dining plans at select dining locations. I would suggest checking the entertainment schedule for the fireworks or any other entertainment you would like to see so you can plan out the timing of your dining reservation. I love watching the Fireworks at Disneyland Park and World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park. Both of these nighttime spectaculars are amazing and bring happy tears to my eyes as I reflect on how lucky I feel to be able to watch.

I hope these ideas help with planning your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. I'm so excited for you to visit and glad you have this reason to celebrate! If you have more planning questions before you arrive, please feel free to send them to us at planDisney. We love helping guests like you!

Wishing you health, happiness, & magic, always,
    Lisa
