Welcome to planDisney, friend! I’m so happy you reached out to us. As Stitch would say, “Ohana means family,” and you’re part of ours here.
There have been no announcements yet regarding the celebration of
626 Day, also known as International Stitch Day, this year. However, considering that in past years the Disney Parks Blog has shared all the ways to celebrate our favorite experiment, and with the recent news that
Lilo & Stitch 2 is currently in development, the day will likely be celebrated again. Of course, nothing is set in stone until it’s officially confirmed, so be sure to keep following the
Disney Parks Blog for updates in the coming months. After all, our favorite blue alien has never been one to stay out of the spotlight for long.
In the meantime, you can take a look at what has been offered over the past few years to get an idea of what
might be in store this year.
Last year, the merchandise was out of this world, and in
2024, there were some pretty amazing food options around the resort. Plus, you can always make a reservation for the Best Friends Breakfast at
‘Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, not only for that delicious Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread, but also for the chance to give both Lilo and Stitch a hug! Now,
that's a way to start celebrating 626 Day!
And speaking of Stitch hugs, if you’re a
Disney Visa Cardmember, you may want to check out the
Disney Visa Cardmember Photo Opportunity at Celebrity Spotlight in
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where you can meet this lovable and feisty blue alien who may be a little wild, but always finds his way.
I think it’s fair to say that Stitch isn’t going anywhere, and it will be fun to see where his adventures take him next, both in the upcoming film and throughout the
Disney Parks. After all, he’s found his place, and we’re lucky to be part of his story. If you have any other questions,
I’m here for you!
Stay wild, but always kind,
Matt
