Is there anything we absolutely need to have cash for at WDW? (Ex: Reserved parking, balloons, etc.) Ideally I would like to use credit card or gift cards, but would like to be prepared if I need cash on hand.

Howdy Sarah!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  We really appreciate your question!

I can completely understand your desire not to carry cash!  I am the same way!  You will be happy to know that the Walt Disney World Resort does take credit cards and some gift cards.  This really makes traveling much easier.  The only reason you might want a few dollars on hand would be for Coin Press Machines and just in case a credit card reader was having trouble and you really needed a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar!  I usually keep a few dollars on hand to make sure I can get my Mickey Ice Cream when I need it!  So, if you choose to just stick with your cards you should be just fine!

There are so many exciting things happening in 2020!  To stay informed of everything, check out the Disney Parks Blog.  They are always coming out with exciting information.  Also, if you have any more questions, please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love to help, Sarah!
