    Has anyone been to The World lately and seen hats like Russell's Wilderness Explorer hat from the movie "Up?" We are dressing up as Wilderness Explorers for MNSSHP and would like to purchase the hats in Adult and child sizes. Thank you!!

    Hi Mary,

    I'm so glad that I first saw Up in the privacy of my home. Had I seen it in the movie theaters first, I'm sure everyone around me would've been pointing and snickering at the big bald guy that was balling his eyes out.

    I absolutely loved the movie, but the thing that I really enjoyed was the reminder of how we need to savor the precious time we have with our loved ones!

    Before I jump into answering your question, I need to say that I think your idea for Wilderness Explorer Halloween costumes is really awesome!

    Okay, back to your question...I unfortunately have some bad news. I reached out to someone on the Walt Disney World merchandising team and she said that she hasn't seen any of those hats in a long time. Sorry!

    While it would be nice to have an official Wilderness Explorer hat, it seems as if the logo would be pretty easy to replicate as long as you can find a plain yellow cap. (That should be a fun craft project!)

    Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

    When you arrive at Walt Disney World, talk to the cast members at various gift shops and see if they've recently seen Wilderness Explorer caps for sale. I've been told that they take note of the items guests ask about as they look for new souvenir offerings.

    I'll be sure to ask as well because I'd like to have one of those caps. (Russell reminds me a lot of myself when I was a wee lad!)
