Has anyone waited in the Droid Depot standby line? Or rope dropped it? What are the waits like without a reservation? We are hoping to get to Magic Kingdom for the second half of the day but also want plenty of time for our droid to interact with the land.

Bright suns, Elizabeth!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel on your way to Batuu.

I am so excited to hear that you are planning a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  I am happy to tell you that Droid Depot has the droids you are looking for.  There is no standby line per se for the build your own astromech droid experience at Droid Depot.  However, Droid Depot may accommodate walk-ins each day, subject to availability.  To ensure that you have the opportunity to build your own BB-Series or R-Series droid during your visit to Black Spire Outpost, I recommend making a reservation for Droid Depot.  If there are no reservations available for the date of your visit, keep checking back to see if any additional reservations open up.

If you are unable to secure a Droid Depot reservation, be sure to travel to the planet Batuu as early in the morning as possible for the best chance of walk-in availability at Droid Depot.  If you are a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guest, you will have access to extra, Extra Magic Hours.  Extra, Extra Magic Hours will be offered daily at Disney's Hollywood Studios from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on September 1 through November 2, 2019.

If Droid Depot is having a particularly busy day and you are unable to book a time to build your own droid, take a look around the Droid Depot shop.  There you will find a wide selection of droid related merchandise, including pre-built droids.  The pre-built droids also make wonderful traveling companions as you explore Black Spire Outpost since they can also interact with the land.  For even more interactive fun, be sure to download Star Wars: Datapad on the Play Disney Parks mobile app before your visit.

    'Til the Spire!
