Hey Howdy Hey Holly and welcome back to planDisney!
Resort hopping has got to be one of the biggest underrated experiences when staying at Walt Disney World Resort. Every resort has so much to offer from amenities, recreational opportunities, unique snacks and views of the parks and resort you won't see anywhere else.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is one of the better ones anyone should probably plan on spending some good quality time at to experience this resort. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you did not already know though! Let's talk about resort hopping.
As things were starting to reopen after the COVID closures, Disney was way more strict on those allowed in all resorts. Now that COVID is more controlled and rules are more relaxed and all resorts are now open, those rules look a little different. At this time, if you are driving your vehicle, you are only allowed to park in the parking lot of a different resort than the one you are staying at if you have a dining reservation. If you are taking resort transportation by bus or boat, you are more than welcome to spend some time around the resort and get back to experiencing the outdoor beauty Fort Wilderness is known for!
Disney resort transportation runs 45 minutes before the parks open and one hour after they close. This should give you enough time to have an experience throughout the day and evening to check out the resort.
As characters continue to make their way back into the parks and resorts as they have in the past, I would make sure to call ahead to verify that
Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long on the night you are planning if this is still an experience you are looking for. They should be available most nights weather permitting.
One of the more popular dining experiences that just recently returned to Fort Wilderness is the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review dinner show. This is a rip-roaring fun time to enjoy the excitement and laughter of the show and a fantastic family feast. If you have visited the resort before but never caught this show, I would highly recommend it!
Ok, last recommendation, although there are still so many! The time of year you will be in Disney is a time when the holiday season celebrations will be in full swing. If you have never done so, you can take horse-drawn carriage rides around the resort. BUT, and it's a BIG BUT, during the holiday season, these horse-drawn carriage rides turn into
Holiday Sleigh Rides! What better way to experience the holiday season than a sleigh ride at a Disney Resort, amirite?
Best of luck with your continued planning for your upcoming trip, sounds like it will be full of Magica and familiar fun! Please stop back and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
