Anyone has a tip on budget travelling to DW? I am travelling with my husband and my 19mths old daughter. We had only booked our flight tickets and nothing else. Any suggestions?

    Hi Maimunah,

I think it's fair to say that most of us are trying to keep tabs on our budget these days.  The good news is that there are many great resources for traveling to Disney on a tight budget.  Here are some of my suggestions:

    • Check the website often for specials by clicking HERE.  Currently, Disney is offering a Buy Four, Get Three Free deal for many dates through the end of June.
    • The Value Resorts offer the best rates on property, while still affording your family wonderful Disney service and amenities.  Currently, there is an offer for rooms beginning at $49 per night.
    • Staying on property can absolutely be a cost-saving decision.  Magic Express is a FREE luggage and transportation service for guests arriving via Orlando International Airport.  By using it you can save hundreds on a rental car.  In addition, you can utilize Disney's very convenient (and very FREE) transportation service to get from your resort to the parks, and avoid parking fees.
    • A number of external web sites publish deals and specials as well.  One of my favorites is
    • There are tons of "little" tips that can help you pinch pennies too.  Stock up on plastic rain ponchos at a local dollar store before your trip.  Carry your own water/beverages/snacks into the parks to save on concessions.  Make use of your resort's sundries shop to purchase cereal, bread, etc. and have breakfast in your room.
    • Consider sticking with Magic Your Way Base Tickets and not purchasing a Park Hopper Option.  You can still leave the park of your choice mid-day for a trip back to your resort and return (to that same park) later in the day.  By carefully planning an itinerary of what your family would like to experience,  you can absolutely avoid adding this option.

I hope some of my tips help keep your family on target.  Have a wonderful trip!
