Can anyone tell me how share ride works? Where you're able to share a Fastpass with kids? Thanks!

Hi, Megan!  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It sounds like you might be planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with young children.  You are going to love watching your little Mouseketeers experience the power of magic!  I'm not certain what you mean by "share ride," but let me give you a little information on some services that I think you might be referring to.

FastPass+ is a service that lets you reserve a time to experience select attractions or entertainment without waiting in the standby queue.  To reserve your FastPass+ experiences, you will need to link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party to your My Disney Experience account.  You may make your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or 30 days in advance if you are staying elsewhere.

Each person in your party may reserve three FastPass+ experiences per day in advance, but you cannot share a FastPass+ with one of your kids.  Everyone entering the FastPass+ queue for an attraction must have their own FastPass+ reserved.  If you will be accompanying your child on an attraction or at a character experience or show, you and the child will both need to have a valid FastPass+.

Another helpful service when visiting the theme parks with little ones is Rider Switch.  If one or more of the kiddos in your party do not meet the height requirement for an attraction, or simply do not want to ride, you may speak to a Cast Member at that attraction's entrance about using Rider Switch.  The Cast Member will issue you a Rider Switch pass, and one adult may wait with the non-rider(s) while the rest of the party waits in the standby queue.  After that first group is done riding, the waiting adult may bring along up to two other guests and access the attraction using the FastPass+ queue.  This eliminates the need to wait in the standby queue twice.

If you would like to use FastPass+ along with Rider Switch, bypassing the standby queue altogether, you may do so.  However, everyone who will be riding needs to have a valid FastPass+ for the attraction in order to do this.  This includes the adult who will be waiting with the non-rider(s).

Megan, I hope that this information addresses your question.  If you were referring to something else, please feel free to stop back and ask us another question.  Have a magical day!
