Has anyone stayed off property and used Lyft throughout their trip? I am wondering if it is economical (in combination with the Disney transportation) and wait times are short -or- if renting a vehicle would be smarter. Two adults, no kids, on this trip.

    Hi Jen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

I’ve recently stayed off-property during an “adults only” trip and I think that your idea of using Lyft or Uber for your transportation is a good one. Although I do enjoy the convenience of having my own car, because of the costs associated with parking at the Theme Parks, it might make more financial sense to use ride sharing services to get to and from Walt Disney World Resort during your visit to Central Florida, and then to rely on Disney Transportation once you’re “inside” the Magic!

What I would recommend would be to figure out how far away your hotel (or other accommodations) will be from your various destinations. Then, use the calculators in the app or do some quick Google searching to see what other Guests have paid when using these services in and around Walt Disney World Resort. That amount should be cheaper than your rental car costs, plus parking, but that may not be the case if you’re staying in a hotel that is more than a handful of miles away.

I hope my answer helps you plan your adults-only getaway! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
