Has anyone stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms @ AoA, how was it? We are going Sept 2014. Not included in free dining, but our daughter loves little mermaid so we will just pay for dining. Whats the average budget for food for a week 2 adults & 3 year o

    Hi Maria!

We stayed in a Little Mermaid standard room at the Art of Animation Resort over spring break this year.  My daughter is also a huge fan of Ariel.  We loved the theme of the room as well as the courtyard area with the huge characters.  The Little Mermaid section is a bit of a walk to the Big Blue Pool and the food court, but it didn't bother us at all.

For quick service meals, I would budget $15-20 per person for adults and usually no more than $10 for children.  Most kids meals come with sides and a drink.  We aren't huge breakfast eaters, so we usually end up splitting two adult breakfast platters between the four of us.  (My kids are 2 and 5.)  For reference, the breakfast platter at the Grand Floridian last week was $11.99 and comes with plenty of food to feed two of us.

Table service meals can range from $20 per person to over $50 per person depending on where you dine.  Most kids meals at table service restaurants are under $10.Character meals are on the top end of the scale and are more expensive for dinner than breakfast or lunch.  If you would like to dine with characters, but are on a budget, I suggest doing it for breakfast to save yourself a little bit of money.

We like to get the resort refillable mugs.  They are currently $11.99 for your entire stay and less expensive if you are staying 2 or 3 days.  These can be filled up in the Landscape of Flavors food court at Art of Animation or at the Big Blue Pool.  You can get refills on coffee, tea, sodas, Powerade, lemonade and hot chocolate.

    Have a magical day!
