Can anyone who served in 1980’s military buy amusement park tickets? n how many tickets can I get? Do I or anyone else have to show a ID when entering the park?

Hi there, Melvin! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

From what I can tell, you'll be joining your favorite Disney pals at the Happiest Place on Earth in a little over a month. I bet you're over the moon about that!

I am happy to let you know that active and retired US military personnel can absolutely purchase 3 or 4-day Disney Military Promotional Park Hopper Tickets with or without Disney Genie+ Service. In my opinion, I would definitely advise you to purchase Genie+, since it will allow you to bypass the standard queues at select attractions throughout the Disneyland Resort, and it will also give you unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. It really is a wonderful deal!

In order for you to purchase these special tickets, however, you'll need to pay a visit to a participating US military base ticket office. There are three offices in Illinois for you to choose from:

    • Great Lakes MWR ITT, Great Lakes (847-688-3537)
    • Rock Island IMNE-RIA-MWR, Rock Island (309-782-1230)
    • Scott AFB ITT, Scott AFB (618-256-5919)
Melvin, if you would like to purchase your tickets at any of the ticket offices above, I encourage you to give them a call first. You will need to show a valid military ID at the ticket office, and you will only be able to purchase up to six Theme Park tickets. Keep in mind that, as an Eligible Service Member, you or your spouse will need to use one of the six tickets purchased. In addition to this, you need to know that you'll be able to purchase tickets now through December 12, 2022 for usage until December 16, 2022.

I hope that my answer has helped clarify things for you, Melvin! I hope that your magical Disney vacation is everything you wish for and so much more. Please don't hesitate to come back with any other questions you might have.

    See you real soon!
