Hi Laurie,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I’ve visited Walt Disney World with kids of all ages, from babies to teenagers to my Dad, who just turned 29 again! I like your thinking, because no matter the age, don’t we all just want a comfy chair and a refreshing beverage by the end of a magical theme park day?
The double strollers available for rental at Walt Disney World are recommended for children weighing 100 pounds or less, and the seat measures 19 inches across and 24 inches deep. I did a quick internet search for "Walt Disney World double stroller rental" and found lots of images if you'd like a visual. Laurie, I’ve pushed older children in the double stroller, but I will warn you: it is not particularly easy, especially when turning corners. My fellow Panelist Brandy B. shared her experience in
this helpful answer.
My recommendation would be to look at local stroller rental companies;
Disney recommends Featured Providers on their Stroller Rental web page. On a recent visit, we used Kingdom Strollers to rent a jogging stroller for my son, who is getting too tall for most strollers, and we loved how easy it was to maneuver in the parks. Keep in mind that a rental from an outside company is one that you’ll need to bring with you on Disney transportation (and it must be folded if you’re bringing it on a bus) and store in your room, versus Disney stroller rentals, which you turn in at the end of each park day.
I hope that helps as you decide what will work best for your family, Laurie. If you have any more questions, please come back and see us.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
