Would anyone know how I can link my sons newly created profile to our family group? Since our last visit to the Disney, our son is now 14 (he was 12 last time) and has now created his own profile, I want to add it to our family without losing his old data

Welcome to planDisney, Christopher! While Disney does its best to keep us young at heart, it sounds like your son is ready to manage his own My Disney Experience account and have a little ownership over his tickets, MagicBands, and other features available in his account! My daughter, who is now 13, recently completed the process of merging her existing account (which has been managed by me over the years) with her newly created individual account, so I am happy to walk you through the steps! The great thing about completing this process is that all of your son's existing plans, tickets, reservations, and MagicBands will transfer to his new account automagically! Let's get started!

Since your son has already created a new profile, you will just need to send an invitation from your My Disney Experience account to the email associated with his new profile to merge his accounts together. To do so, follow these simple steps from your My Disney Experience account:

    1. Click the three horizontal lines at the bottom right-hand side of the My Disney Experience mobile app
    2. Click on "My Profile"
    3. Select "Friends and Family"
    4. Find his old account (it will say "managed by me")
    5. Click on this account and select "Send Email" to send an invitation to the email he used to create his new account. This will merge his accounts together and transfer ownership from you to him.

Once you have sent the invitation and your son accepts, he will have control over his account and you will continue to be able to plan together as Friends and Family!

Christopher, traveling with teens is a magic all of its own! They're old enough (and tall enough!) to experience all of the latest thrills in the parks, but they're also young enough to relish in the magic and fantasy that surrounds them! My girls still love saying hello to their favorite characters, but we now prefer to book a character dining experience rather than standing in line to do so! They also love the rides, but not the lines that come with them, so we often opt to purchase Genie+ and let them navigate their top picks to keep everyone happy! I also find they are more interested these days in exploring extras like the Disney Water Parks, Disney Springs district, and even the Disney Resort Hotels when we visit!

I hope this helps you to merge your son's account and successfully plan for some magical moments on your upcoming visit! Come back to planDisney anytime if we can help again!
