    Anyone know of a general idea of dates in December when the Christmas parade is taped at the Magic Kingdom that later airs on Christmas Day...also if anyone has any tips/advice on the subject. Would love to plan a trip to be there for the parade! Thanks!!

    Hi, Gina!  The Christmas Parade that you see on TV is filmed in early December, usually the first weekend.   It takes the entire weekend to film the parade and entertainment.   Due to scheduling, talent coming and going, and weather, it is really difficult to plan for.

    I was there last year, and due to weather issues, everything was rescheduled, relocated, and you just never knew when the action was going to take place.   I was lucky enough to be at the Magic Kingdom when the Jonas Brothers were performing, but thankfully I was there with several of my fellow Moms Panelists and not my kids.   It was way too crowded and hectic to try and have little ones there.     With the huge crowds, it was hard to even see. 

    That said, it was pretty fun seeing the Jonas Brothers and Kelly Ripa, but more because it just happened that we were there.  I really wouldn't make a special trip out of it.  The filming is very long, and really does take a good part of the weekend. 

    My advice to you is to plan an enjoyable WDW vacation where you can see all the beautiful holiday decorations, go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, take advantage of smaller crowds, then come Christmas Day, grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the parade from your cozy couch at home!
