Does anyone know exact date of when the pool at the beach club is closing in January due to the refurbishments?

Hey there, Tyler! Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re gearing up for a fantastic vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, and I’d love to help you make it even more memorable!

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are among my favorite places to stay, and it’s no wonder why. Not only are they perfectly located near EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but they also boast some incredible dining options. Cape May Café is a top choice of mine for Character Breakfasts, where you can enjoy delicious food while hanging out with some of your favorite Disney pals. And no visit would be complete without a stop at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop for a sweet treat, the Kitchen Sink is a must-try! Of course, the star of the show is Stormalong Bay, the massive pool complex that feels more like a mini-water park. With its sandy-bottomed pool, lazy river, and one of the best waterslides around, it’s a big hit for families!

Regarding your question about the pool refurbishment, as of right now, Disney has shared that Stormalong Bay will be undergoing enhancements starting in January 2025, but an exact closure date hasn’t been provided yet. This allows Disney some flexibility with the project’s timeline. If you’re staying during that time, there’s a chance the pool could still be open, but to be on the safe side, it’s good to have backup plans. The great news is that even if Stormalong Bay isn’t available, you’ll still have access to the other three lovely pools at the resort: Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove. I’m in the same boat, planning a trip in January. I normally go for Beach Club, but because of the uncertainty, I’m opting to stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn this time. It’s still super close to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and I can easily visit my favorite Beach and Yacht Club restaurants!

If swimming is a must during your stay, I highly recommend checking out Disney’s two awesome water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Both offer plenty of water fun and unique experiences. If you’re looking for other Disney Resorts Collection hotels with great pools, consider Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, with its beautiful Lava Pool, or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, where you’ll find the impressive Lost City of Cibola pool. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort also have fantastic pool areas that might be just what you’re looking for.

Please feel free to reach out again if you need any more help with your plans, Tyler. I’m always here to help!

    See you real soon!
