    Does anyone know the distance to walk from the the Premium Outlet (Vineland Ave) to the Publix also on Vineland - we are thinking of taking a taxis the mall, walking to Publix then taking a taxis back to POP? Is this realistic or should we rent a car? THX

    Hi, Allison! I like the way you think! We have several Canadian moms on the Disney Moms Panel, and when we're all together at WDW, they insist on a side trip to the outlet malls of Orlando. So, I understand that motivation!

    I think your plan is do-able. However, we're going to have to think through things logistically here. Go to Google Maps and click on the satellite view of the Orlando Premium Outlets Mall and then scroll over to Publix. It's going to be a bit of a walk for you carrying your purchases from the mall. Yet, it looks like there's a pedestrian walkway alongside Vineland and an exit right at the corner closest to Publix. I think that if you had the taxi drop you off at the far end of the mall (on the side of Mary Queen of the Universe Church), you could do your shopping and work your way to the other side where you'll want to exit. Just from the map, I'm guessing that you'll have about a 1/4-mile walk.

    Once you arrive at Publix, go to customer service and ask them if there's a place that they could store your mall purchases so that you are free to grocery shop. Also, you may want to estimate your time there and ask customer service to call a taxi for you for your return. Publix is known for great customer service -- so I would be very surprised if they aren't completely accommodating for you. Also, if you want them to give you an idea of the walk, call Publix at 407-238-9924. I'm sure that they trek over to the mall occasionally!
