Greetings John! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to help with your planning question.
In my opinion,
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is THE place to stay this year! I recently had the opportunity to tour the resort, and between the updates to the entire resort, the recently opened
Sebastian's Bistro, and access to the
Disney Skyliner, I can't wait to stay here again myself.
I did a little investigating for you, John. It looks like there are rooms categorized as Water or Pool View Rooms - 5th Sleeper in the following island areas: select buildings in Aruba and Jamaica, and all buildings in Martinique and Barbados. Keep in mind that if you choose to make a room request it is never guaranteed, but if it were me, I would request that my room be located in Jamaica. This will put you right next to the Disney Skyliner station, and within a short walking distance to the
Fuentes de Morro Pool and
Centertown Market. I stayed in Jamaica during my last vacation to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and we never had a long walk anywhere we wanted to go.
Fortunately, I don't think you can go wrong with any location at this resort. Each island features its own bus stop as well as its own leisure pool, so you'll never be more than a few steps away from taking a dip or catching a ride to the theme parks.
I hope you have a terrific vacation, John. Be sure to stop by the
Banana Cabana and have a drink or snack for me!
Bon voyage!
Betsy
