Does anyone know how big the pull down bunk in port Orleans riverside is? Web site says will sleep 5 adults but just want to be sure. Is the pull down bunk a twin bed or smaller? Thanks

    Hi there, Kat!

My family stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside last May. We had been a value resort family in the past, but with my boys growing bigger almost by the second - we now need larger accommodations.

We were in a preferred room in the Alligator Bayou section. My sons were 7 and 10 during our last stay and they both loved the pull down bed. It was fun for them to have a bed that came out of the wall - like magic! When pulled down, there was a picture of Louie the alligator from The Princess and the Frog. My 10 year old is a bit tall for his age and was just under 5ft tall at the time of that visit. He could comfortably sleep on the pull down bed, but honestly anyone much taller - or anyone who may be more 'Pooh-sized' - would not fit comfortably on the pull down bed. It is narrower and shorter than a twin sized bed. A petite adult, or an adult that doesn't like to 'spread out' while they sleep may be comfortable.

For an even greater idea of the size, you can search images online. Some people have taken pictures of children and adults alike laying in these Murphy beds.

Wishing you a magical vacation, Kat!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
