    Hello. Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to get to Downtown Disney from Port Orleans French Quarter by ferry? We'll be there the week of March 16. Thanks!

    Hey Chad-

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. One of the best features Walt Disney World Resort offers is different transportation experiences. My family loves traveling by water taxi and we recently used it as our main transportation method from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom Park. Certain moments can only be captured by Walt Disney World Water Transportation. I have fantastic photos of the Magic Kingdom Park taken from the Admiral Joe Fowler Ferry Boat. Truly Magical!

    I enjoy using www.ourlaughingplace.com’s Transportation Wizard. It is located in the top right corner of their website. You can put in any two destinations and the Transportation Wizard will give you, if applicable, several options to get from Downtown Disney to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. In your case the water taxi, the Sassagoula River boat, will take you about 15-20 minutes. There are three locations to launch from: 1. Downtown Disney Marketplace, 2. Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, 3. Downtown Disney West Side. There are waterfront water taxis to transfer you between the three docks. You will need to get to the Downtown Disney Marketplace launch to cruise up the Sassagoula River to your resort. This time is an estimate based on Guest volume and ferry availability. If I were you I would initially budget 30 minutes of transportation time. Water transportation typically leaves your Resort every 20 minutes.
