    Has anyone heard of any free dining this year. We are thinking of going at the of Aug. beginning of Sept. Thank you

    Hi Albert,

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I see you are waiting for one of those delicious Free Dining offers!

    Although there are currently no Free Dining Offers available through Walt Disney World Special Offers, there may be an offer announced later in the year for your trip dates. When I have seen those offers in the past, they were released just a few months prior to the travel window period for the offer. 

    In the past I have discovered that a Free Dining offer package is not necessarily cheaper than another Magic Your Way Vacation Package with dining. When you book earlier, there are often other discounted packages available. With free dining, your room rate may be higher so the total package price may actually not be less than another special offer. My advice is to price your trip now with all special offers that are applicable to your travel dates. A few years ago, I made a reservation then a great special offer was released later. I was able to call back and have the new special offer applied to my reservation. Although that is not guaranteed, I was ecstatic!

    We have honestly never waited for Free Dining offers because I like to make our advanced dining reservations 180 days in advance and those offers have not been out at that time when I checked my travel dates. In addition, we do not want our resort hotel room type to sell out, so we always book at least six months in advance.

    Albert, patience is not a virtue for me so I am sending pixie dust your way hoping that a little extra dusting of patience will help you survive the wait!
