Hi Katie ~
I am a HUGE fan of Disney's behind the scenes
tours. They are amazing! I love to soak up everything I can about Disney and want to know it all.
I have done the
Keys to the Kingdom Tour at the Magic Kingdom and
Backstage Magic which includes all four of the theme parks. In my opinion, I think that both of these tours are totally worth the money and time. In fact, I've done both of these tours more than once.
Before deciding on whether or not to take a behind the scenes tour, I think Guests should consider a couple of things. If this is a first trip to Disney World, I would probably dedicate more time to exploring the parks. Guests should experience the on-stage magic firsthand before going backstage. If this is your first time and you are going to have several days in the parks, then a behind the scenes tour is an awesome way to end your magical stay.
Both the
Keys to the Kingdom Tour and
Backstage Magic require Guest to be a minimum of 16 years of age. Think about the other people in your travel party. If you have little ones, you will need to make sure you have arranged childcare while you are on the tour.
Also keep in mind that backstage areas are where all of the magic is prepared before it comes together on-stage for Guests. Like any production, the backstage areas are not as glamorous. You may even catch a glimpse of a star outside their dressing room without their make-up. Some Guests feel like that would spoil the magic for them.
If you are a big Disney fan, you will absolutely love the behind the scenes tours.
