does anyone have any feedback on the gifts that you can pre-order form Disney gift shop? should i bring my own welcome gift and arrange it to be found by my 7yr? i want her to have a great time but i dont want to spend too much . thanks

    Hi Lindsey,

Our boys love finding welcome gifts from Mickey Mouse in our resort room. We have purchased a number of baskets and gifts from, including the new Grand Welcome package. The Dream Makers at Disney Florist do an amazing job of putting together just the right items to create the perfect gift. There is a good variety of choices to pick from at different price levels. I just sent a great tote full of treats to friends on their first Disney World vacation, and it was the icing on a perfect trip according to their parents.

Another option is This local gift service designs baskets based on your requests and can often create a more specialized bag with items that sometimes can not be found through Disney Florist. The option may prove to be a little cheaper depending on what selections you make, and the package is delivered to your resort.

We have also carried in Disney treats and put together a room surprise on our own. Of course this option will be the most cost effective and will allow you to pick out specific items that you know your children will enjoy the most. I just hide these items in the bottom of the suitcase and make sure that I head up to the room to set up the "surprise" while my husband keeps the kids occupied elsewhere.

The kids will love to find these treats waiting for them and will make the trip even more memorable since Mickey stopped by to welcome them. Have a great time!
