Jambo Tammy (Swahili translation: Hello Tammy!),
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I stayed there with our oldest on his very first Walt Disney World vacation. We will never forget his excitement as we watched giraffes eating just outside our room. Giraffes are his all-time favorite animal and seeing them in person just made that experience that much more magical. Our room was a savanna view room on the fourth floor of the "Ostrich Trail." The hallways are named as different "trails": the Ostrich, Kudu, Zebra, and Giraffe. The rooms on any of the levels would provide great views, but if you are looking for the highest level, the fifth and sixth floors are the concierge level.
The
Wanyama Safari is an exclusive tour only offered to guests of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This 3-hour private tour of the savannas is available by reservation up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) 938-4755. You will be amazed at the wildlife that you will witness. Following the safari tour, dinner is served at
Jiko-The Cooking Place. It truly is a unique dining experience that should not be missed, both for the atmosphere, the extensive African wine list and the delicious menu offerings. Please note that guests must be at least 8 years old to participate and there is a dress code for Jiko-The Cooking Place.
Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and I hope I have offered you some insight on this amazing resort.
