Has anyone done the dolphin excusion in St. Thomas and is it worth the money? We are traveling in July with a 6 and 8 year old that really want to do this, but it seems pricey. Thanks!

    Hi Kim!

I have not done the dolphin excursion in St. Thomas, but I have several friends who have.  I have gotten some great feedback from them regarding the Tortola Dolphin Encounter.  I was told that this excursion offers a lot of education which combines the dolphins along with the environment.

I do realize that this is most certainly not an inexpensive Port Adventure.  I have heard that the adventure is fabulous, please keep this in mind...while the entire adventure is approximately 8 hours long, what is referred to as "a mammal meet and greet"  lasts 30 minutes.  If you think that your kids can handle a full day that includes a bus tour, boat ride and lunch in addition to the dolphins, I'd absolutely say do it.  When you compare the cost to everything that's included, it really seems worth it.

I hope this helps Kim.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Have a magical trip!
