has anyone camped in a tent at wildernes campgrounds? how was it?

    Hello Nary,

I am sorry to say that I do love the luxury of being in a resort, although I spent most of my childhood vacationing at Fort Wilderness Campground when I was growing up and going on family vacations in our Trailer/RV.  I am answering your question because I have a brother who has camped here in tents on numerous occasions and loved it.  He, unfortunately brought his old tent the last time which was leaking and during the frequent thunderstorms they had during the time of year they went, they did not fare too well!  Everything got soaked (including them!) and all their personal belongings (including Passports).  So, moral of the story....if you like camping in tents in general and you have the proper gear, then there is no better place to "tent it" than at Fort Wilderness in my opinion!  They have very clean Comfort Stations with nice shower facilities and laundromats to wash your clothes.  I do have a very soft spot in my heart for this place and believe you cannot go wrong!

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
