Hi Lizzie, and welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for bringing us your great question.
One of my favorite aspects of visiting the
Most Magical Place on Earth is enjoying the incredible food offerings. From snacks to sit-down dining experiences, there is always something delicious to try. I have a few must-haves each trip, like a warm cinnamon roll from
Gaston’s Tavern, a refreshing DOLE Whip, a citron slush from
Les Vins des Chefs de France in EPCOT’s France Pavilion, and, of course, Mickey waffles. Even with those staples, I love trying something new each visit because there is truly no shortage of treats to try.
Like you, I also have to navigate allergies during our vacations because my son has a peanut allergy. Rest assured, dining at Walt Disney World Resort with allergies or sensitivities is made simple and stress-free. You can start planning now by browsing menus online (such as
ABC Commissary, for example), which list allergy-friendly options so you can prepare before you even set foot in the parks. I also recommend submitting a
dietary request form to the Special Diets Team no sooner than 14 days before your arrival. This will allow a Cast Member to review your needs and help you create a plan that works for you.
Once you are at a restaurant or quick service location, be sure to mention your allergies to the Cast Member assisting you. They will often provide a detailed ingredient binder for you to review. In many cases, a chef will come to your table to discuss your concerns personally and prepare your meal separately to ensure your safety. Disney takes tremendous care to make sure that every Guest can enjoy the same magical dining experience, and I think you will be impressed with the attention to detail.
Lizzie, if you would like specific recommendations for quick service spots, table service restaurants, or even my favorite top secret dining locations for watching
Happily Ever After, I would be thrilled to share those with you. Please feel free to
send another question my way.
See you real soon.
