Ahoy there, Henry, and welcome aboard planDisney!
Wow! You and your crew are about to embark on an incredible
Bahamian escape on the
Disney Wish in less than a week! What an exciting time! Having just sailed on the newest ship in the
Disney Cruise Line fleet, I'm thrilled that you and your crew are going to get to walk into the Grand Hall and start a magical Disney Cruise Line vacation!
A full explanation of the process and testing requirements can be found in the Know Before You Go information, which was just updated on August 15, 2022!
When it comes to antigen tests, only those that are completed using a proctored in-person or telehealth service and come with digital results that can be uploaded to the Safe Passage website will be accepted. So if you're like me and still have some of the free tests we've accumulated over the years, unfortunately, those are not accepted by Disney Cruise Line. A nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) or PCR test also is acceptable, and Guests can also choose to obtain a test from any independent online testing supplier or pharmacy.
I know from experience that local pharmacies are a great quick way to satisfy the testing requirements with the type of confirmation that is required by Safe Passage (at least for guests over three years old)!
When my family sailed in July, we elected to test at the port, but that was because our little sailor had to test at the port as well, but to ease embarkation day, I definitely suggest satisfying the pre-embarkation testing requirements within the two-day window and uploading your results to the Safe Passage website! Hopefully you've already registered with Safe Passage and will just need to upload your information on Saturday after a quick test!
Thank you for your question, Henry, and if you have any others as your cruise approaches the horizon, please drop us another line here at planDisney!
I wish you and your crew fair winds, following seas, and negative test results!
Andrew
