Welcome to planDisney, Orlany! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. Your tickets are one of the most important parts of your trip to Walt Disney World, and I'm happy to clarify exactly who can use the tickets you have in your name so we can avoid any hiccups or confusion at the gate when you arrive.
Florida Resident tickets come with a few extra rules compared to tickets for residents of other states and countries. Florida Resident tickets can only be used by guests who can show
proof of Florida residency. That proof is usually a state-issued photo ID, like a Florida driver's license or a Florida state ID card. Disney also accepts other types of photo ID as long as they're paired with something official that verifies Florida residency, like a mortgage statement, utility bill, or mail from a government agency. But in every case, the ticket holder needs to be able to show proof of that in person at the gate the first time they use their Florida Resident ticket.
If your friend wants to join you, the best option would be for them to purchase their own ticket. If they have proof of Florida residency, they'd be able to buy and register their own Florida Resident ticket, but if they're not able to prove their address with official documentation, they would need to purchase their own
standard 1-Day or multi-day ticket. That way, there won't be any ID issues when you get to the park, and they'll be able to walk right in, no problem!
Have a magical day, Orlany!
