Hi Kimberly! First, I'm honored you chose to ask me this question - I actually saw your tweet to Laura wondering who to ask about Victoria & Albert's and wondered who you'd choose. When it was me, I was excited! Of course, then I hoped I could actually help you, since Victoria and Albert's is one of the few places I have
not dined at Walt Disney World. A travesty, I know. I simply must remedy this! Never fear though, I did get an answer to your question with the help of our wonderful Disney Mom Erin, who is taking a little break from answering questions. I knew Erin had been to the Chef's Table more than once, so I was sure she could help me - and she did.
As you mentioned, the wine pairings are separate, at a current cost of $95 per person in addition to the $200 per person cost of the Chef's Table experience (prices subject to change of course). You are not required to purchase the wine pairings, but they are indeed just wine. You receive six selections throughout dinner, not including the Champagne toast which is included in the meal price. That said, you are free to order just a glass or a bottle of wine, cocktails, or beer on your own at a separate cost. Be sure to check out the new
Victoria and Albert's website for lots of information on wine, sample menus and more.
Erin says that pretty much anything the guest wants is available there, so if there is a specific beer you are looking for, or if you'd like suggestions for beer pairings or an after dinner cordial, the cast members there will most likely have some options for you.
I hope that helps with your planning and I have to say I'm happy to hear you and your friend are ditching the poptart pals to enjoy this experience! I'm sure it will be one you won't regret. Thanks so much for asking your question here at the Moms Panel - please come visit us again with any other questions you may have. Bon Appetit!
