Our annual trip is coming up. Due to health this year, my husband and I cannot ride rides with our 12 year old. I know Disney allows him to ride alone, but if he's afraid to stand in line by himself, can we stand with him until he gets on the ride?

    Hi Morgan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Thank you for sending in such a great question.  You are correct that your 12-year-old can ride on attractions alone (Guests under 14 must be accompanied by an adult to enter Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, but only Guests under 7 need be accompanied on an attraction), and you absolutely can stand in line with him until you reach the loading area.  Just speak with the Cast Member there and tell them that you cannot ride, or you have changed your mind, and they will direct you to an exit.  Then you can make your way around to the main exit for the attraction and wait for your son there, ensuring that you all know where to meet, as some rides exit directly into a shop with many other exits.  I have done this myself recently with a large group of friends who wanted to ride something I did not wish to experience, and I am sure Guests change their minds about riding certain attractions all the time.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest updates and news on any events that may be happening during your stay.
