We are annual passholders and still a little confused on the weekend rules at Magic Kingdom. If we have a reservation on a Sunday at Animal Kingdom can we hop to Magic Kingdom after that?

    Hey Amy!

I love being an Annual Passholder and I’m so glad that you’re one too! Being an Annual Passholder makes me feel like I can get a taste of that magic whenever I’m looking for a little pick-me-up.

Now, about your weekend plans: while being an Annual Passholder grants you the flexibility to Park Hop at any time, there are some guidelines to keep in mind, especially when it comes to weekends and Magic Kingdom Park.

Firstly, remember that to enter any park (unless it’s a “Good to Go Day”), including Magic Kingdom, you'll need both valid admission and a theme park reservation. Luckily, as a Passholder, you're likely well-versed in this process.

Here's the key: if you have a reservation at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park on a Sunday and want to hop to Magic Kingdom afterward, you'll need to start your day at Animal Kingdom, as per the rules. Once you've entered Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, you're free to hop to Magic Kingdom Park or any other park, provided there's availability.

Now, when it comes to weekend hopping, particularly at Magic Kingdom Park, there's a slight twist. Passholders can't directly enter Magic Kingdom Park on Saturdays and Sundays without a prior reservation. However, if you start your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and then decide to hop over to Magic Kingdom Park, you're good to go, as long as there is still availability.

So go ahead, embrace the perks of your annual pass, and let the magic unfold.
