I am an annual passholder for walt Disney world but am thinking about making a trip when I’m in California. Would my photo pass with my annual pass transfer over if I buy tickets to Disneyland? And do I still have to pay for parking.

Welcome back to planDisney, Brianne! I'm a fellow Floridian and Annual Passholder who enjoys the occasional jaunt to the other coast to visit Disneyland Resort. As much as I adore Walt Disney World Resort, there's something extra magical about walking in Walt Disney's footsteps. Let's talk about any reciprocity you'll have when you go west!

Although the Memory Maker option attached to your Walt Disney World Annual pass won't be valid at Disneyland Resort, I have a tip. Digital downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass photos are included with the purchase of Disney Genie+ Service at the California theme parks.

So not only can you head to the Lightning Lanes on many popular attractions at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, but you'll also get complimentary photos with Genie+. And this includes photos taken at attractions! Get ready to say, "Cheese!"

You will also be responsible for parking fees at Disneyland Resort. You can see current pricing and locations on the Disneyland website. You can purchase a voucher in advance, which could save a little time when you arrive.

If you have a MagicBand+ that you use at the Florida parks, I have some good news. You can use the same band at Disneyland! My panelist pal Lisa recently explained how to link your MagicBand+ to a Disneyland account, so be sure to bring your band along.

My final tip is to stay at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. They are all within easy walking distance of both theme parks and the Downtown Disney District. Disneyland Resort is a much more compact resort, so staying in the magic takes on a whole new meaning there!

Brianne, I hope you decide to spend some time at the Happiest Place on Earth. If you're like me, you'll be a smitten Floridian! Please stop by planDisney with any other questions.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine

I married my college sweetheart, and now that our only son is grown, we are exploring the empty-nest life. My family has been visiting Walt Disney World Resort for over 25 years, so if you have questions about adult-only visits, plant-based meals, thrill attractions, and Florida-resident perks, I'm here for you in full Force. Like Yoda would say, "Trips, we will plan!" Learn More About Elaine
