Hi Donna,
Welcome back to planDisney! From one Annual Passholder to another, I completely understand wanting to make sure you’re not accidentally paying for pixie dust twice. Disney vacation math can start feeling like its own EPCOT attraction sometimes!
The good news is that you absolutely have options here. Since you already have an
Annual Pass, many Guests in your situation choose to
book a package for the family members who still need tickets while using their existing pass separately for themselves.
One thing to keep in mind is that
Dining Plans are typically tied to vacation packages, which usually means everyone listed on the package reservation needs to have the same package components, including theme park tickets. That’s often where Annual Passholders run into the “wait… why am I buying another ticket?” moment.
And here’s one other option that may be worth exploring: some Guests choose to book the vacation package with tickets included for everyone and then later apply the value of an eligible theme park ticket toward the purchase or renewal of an Annual Pass. Because ticket upgrade eligibility can vary based on ticket type and timing, I’d definitely recommend speaking directly with a Cast Member or Guest Relations to see what options may work best for your specific reservation. But it might be an option worth looking into, especially if your renewal is coming up!
I’d also encourage you to compare
any available Annual Passholder room discounts separately, because sometimes those savings can end up being even better than booking a traditional package.
Donna, there is something extra magical about an Annual Passholder trip with multiple generations together. Watching your granddaughter experience Walt Disney World while also getting to enjoy all those little AP perks along the way sounds pretty special to me.
I sure hope your family has the most wonderful visit filled with magical memories, tasty snacks, and maybe a little extra time soaking up all the magic at the parks together.
TTFN, ta ta for now!
Emille
