Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for asking us another great question, my fellow
Annual Passholder!
I’m the person who controls my family’s My Disney Experience account and my family members’ respective profiles, too. In fact, because I’m typically the planner for any visits to Walt Disney World Resort for my family AND friends, people often just ask me to manage their accounts for them! That said, when they decide to visit on their own, that’s when they’ll need to take the reins and control their accounts independently.
In your son’s case, what you’ll need to do is go into the “
Family & Friends List” of your My Disney Experience account. Then, click on your son’s profile. If you’re using the
Mobile App, you should see a section that says “Connect with This Guest” with an option to either scan a “Linking Code” or send an email. Send an email to your son’s address and, once he accepts the invitation, he will be able to control his own profile and make plans with his friends. If you plan to go through these steps via the website, you’ll see a link beside your son’s profile that says “Update.” Click on that, and you’ll then click on “Share Planning” with your son, and then enter his email address that way.
