Are annual passes being sold currently? I’ve been trying to find info about them, and can only find the membership discounts, but nowhere to see pricing. Thank you so much!

Hey there, Amanda. I always love to see a fellow North Carolinian ask a question here at planDisney

Since the phased reopening of Walt Disney World back in July 2020, the selling of new annual passes has been temporarily suspended. At this time, I have no knowledge of when they are bringing that back for new Guests to purchase. There is hope that the sale of annual passes will resume eventually because they are allowing current passholders to renew their annual passes if they expire. That tells me that the program is going to stay around, they are just trying to control the flow of people during this unprecedented time.

Currently, you have two options to buy Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets. You can buy a standard theme park ticket which allows access to one park per day. In order to visit a theme park, currently, you do need to make a park pass reservation. With the standard theme park ticket, you are allowed to leave and come back to that same theme park throughout the day as long as there is availability due to capacity limitations. The second option you have for tickets is a standard theme park ticket with a park hopper option. This allows you to hop from one park to another throughout the day. Park hopping is my preferred touring style of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I love to arrive at Magic Kingdom Park first thing in the morning and ride some of the major attractions before the park tend to fill up. Then you can usually find me in the afternoons relaxing by the pool at my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel's pool. In the evenings I love to sip and stroll through the World Showcase at Epcot. It's really a perfect Disney day. Since its return at the first of the year, Park Hopping does look a bit different at this time.

    Here's what to expect:
    • Guests must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests must make a park pass reservation at one park for the day they wish to hop
    • Guests must scan into the park with the park pass reservation
    • Park hopping begins at 2:00 p.m. each day
    • Park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations.
I really do wish I had more information regarding the new sales of annual passes for you, Amanda. I personally am an annual passholder and I absolutely love it. When the program returns for new purchases, I do hope you'll consider joining the family. If you have any other questions about tickets, Amanda, please do feel free to reach out.

    Have a wonderful day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
