When will annual passes become available? I am a Florida resident and I have been waiting to buy one. If we were to visit Disney buying tickets could we upgrade them to passes once the passes are available? Is there a time frame for that?

    Hey There, Ali!

Welcome to planDisney.  In addition to an entire year of theme park admission, I love all the extra perks that come with being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.  From dining and merchandise discounts to complimentary theme park parking, and even special offers on Disney Resorts Collection hotel rooms, there are so many ways to add an extra dusting of magic to every visit.  I'm excited to hear that you're thinking about joining the Annual Passholder Club and I'm happy to explain a few of your current options for purchasing a new pass.

While sales of most new Walt Disney World Annual Pass tiers are currently paused, there's still an option available exclusively to Florida Residents:  the Disney Pixie Dust Pass.  While this tier does have the most blockout dates of any pass –– including weekends and peak seasons –– it comes at a fantastic price.  Currently, you can purchase a new Disney Pixie Dust Pass for $399, plus tax (prices are subject to change).  And don't worry –– if you decide to purchase an Annual Pass and sales of other passes resume later, you'll have the option to upgrade to any other pass tier by paying the difference in cost.  Regular theme park tickets can also be upgraded to an Annual Pass, just note that this upgrade must be done before using the final day of admission on your ticket.  Once you've entered the park on your last day, that ticket is no longer eligible to upgrade.  If you choose to upgrade a ticket or existing pass, all you need to do is stop by any Walt Disney World Guest Relations location or ticket window during your next visit and a Cast Member will be happy to assist you.

At this time, Disney hasn't made an announcement about when Annual Passes might be returning, but the good news is that they've indicated that this is a temporary pause. Because of that, I'm hopeful that sales will resume later this year. For Annual Pass updates and details about what's happening at Disney Parks around the world, be sure to keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Ali.  No matter what your tickets look like, I hope all your upcoming visits to Walt Disney World are filled with an extra sprinkle of pixie dust!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Amy
