I have an annual pass and a resort stay coming up. During my resort stay, i have some blackout dates with my pass. Do the blackout days still apply or do they go away because I have a resort stay? I’m getting mixed answers online.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Stephen!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! It looks like you will be arriving in a few days, so it's time to pack your Mickey ears and get ready for the most MAGICAL adventure ever. You’re about to step into a world filled with enchantment, memories, and nonstop smiles around every corner. The countdown is essentially a formality at this point, as the fun is practically at your doorstep. We can't wait to "See You Real Soon!"

This is a great question, and I love that you’re planning ahead to make sure your upcoming trip goes as smoothly as possible! I want to start by saying that your blackout dates for your annual pass still apply, even if you’re staying at a Disney Resort. Your resort stay and your annual pass function separately in Disney’s system, so having a hotel reservation won’t override any blackout dates on your pass. Even though you’ll be staying at your favorite Disney property, if your pass shows a blockout for that day, it won’t grant you entry into the parks. The only way to enter on a blackout day is to purchase a separate ticket that’s valid for that date. The good news is that on the days your pass is valid, you’ll still get all your usual perks, like Early Theme Park Entry, since you’re staying on-site. Just make sure to double-check if your pass requires a theme park reservation for your first park of the day.

Honestly, blackout days can become some of the most relaxing and enjoyable parts of your vacation. You can stroll around Disney Springs and enjoy incredible food, live entertainment, and some of the best shopping on property. If you’re at a resort with a great pool, this is the perfect day to lounge in the sun, order your favorite snack or frosty drink, and let the world slow down a bit. You could also do a monorail or Skyliner resort hop, grabbing snacks and exploring the lobbies and hidden gems you might normally rush past. It’s a wonderful chance to recharge, so when your valid park days arrive, you’re refreshed and ready for full-throttle Disney fun!

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
