    Annual pass questions 1) will Disney continue to offer room discounts to annual pass holder 2) if we purchase now but don’t validate the pass until we enter the park in 4 months, does our 12 start when we validate/first visit the park.

    Hello and welcome to planDisney, Paul. I'm so glad you've stopped by with your question about Walt Disney World Annual Passes. 

    Paul, I've been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder for years now and I can honestly tell you that it is well worth the initial investment. I was really excited when the sale of new passes opened up last week. I know so many people were ready to join the passholder family. With the sale of new annual passes opening back up, we did see some changes to the program, Paul. Now, out-of-state Guests like you and I are able to purchase the Disney Incredi-Pass. This annual pass tier gives us 365 days of magic throughout all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks with no blockout dates. Additionally, Guests with this pass will receive complimentary theme park parking and be able to hold up to 5 park pass reservations at a time. This is a welcomed change. Previously, Annual Passholders have only been able to hold 3 at a time without a resort stay and it has been hard to plan anything more than a weekend trip at a time. Other benefits of the Disney Incredi-Pass include discounts on food, merchandise and select resort stays. Because the changes are so new, however, I can't say for sure what those discounts on rooms will look like. 

    Once you've purchased your Walt Disney World Annual Pass, you'll go ahead and link it to your MyDisneyExperience account. When you are ready to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, you'll make park pass reservations and then be off for a magical and memorable year. Your year usage does not begin until you activate your annual pass. Activation occurs the first time you scan into the Walt Disney World Theme Parks using your annual pass. Once you've used it the first time, you should be able to see your expiration date under the ticket section in your MyDisneyExperience account.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
