Welcome to planDisney, Laura! We are glad you brought your question to us today.
Disney Genie+ is a great option that helps Guests get more out of their Disney days by spending less time waiting in line. With Disney Genie+, Guests can reserve
Lightning Lane access to over 40 rides and attractions, one at a time.
Currently, there is not an option to add Disney Genie+ to an Annual Pass in advance.
Annual Passholders who would like to use Disney Genie+ service may purchase it each day on the date they plan to use it, anytime after midnight. To purchase Disney Genie+ for same-day use, use the menu button on the home screen of the
My Disney Experience mobile app to select “My Genie Day” and scroll down a bit to the purple banner where you see “Get Disney Genie+ for Today”. It will just take a few moments to complete your purchase and you should be all set. Having a
payment method stored in your My Disney Experience account will make the checkout process even quicker. Since
Guests may reserve their first Lightning Lane attraction beginning at 7:00 am, I recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ a few minutes prior to 7:00.
Some of the most popular attractions are designated as Individual Lightning Lane attractions and may be purchased a la carte in the app. Disney Genie+ service is
not required to be eligible to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes. Guests staying at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, or Shades of Green may purchase up to two Individual Lightning Lane attractions per day beginning at 7:00 am; all other Guests may purchase beginning at the scheduled park opening time.
I prefer to activate my Annual Pass at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs prior to my first theme park visit so I don't need to worry about that step the morning of. You should still be able to purchase Disney Genie+ the day of your visit, even if you don't activate your pass until you arrive at the park.
Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help!
