Hello, Amy! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I've been an
Annual Passholder for several years now, Amy, and absolutely love it. Some of my favorite perks include complimentary theme park parking, the use of the MemoryMaker for the entire year, discounts on select merchandise and restaurants and discounts on Disney Resorts Collection Hotel stays throughout the year. It's also really nice to have a special V.I.Passholder support team to be able to answer any questions or troubleshoot something if there is an issue.
Amy, since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer, the sale of new Annual Passes has been temporarily suspended. There has not yet been an announcement made as to when this may resume in the future. However, I don't think the program is going anywhere. Guests who are current Annual Passholders with passes that are about to expire are being able to renew at this time. Also, Guests that had Annual Passes during the shutdown and opted for a refund instead of a pass extension are able to repurchase on a case-by-case basis. Lastly, with a parent that has a valid Annual Pass Guests who have recently turned three and now require valid theme park admission are also able to purchase a new Annual Pass. So, as I said, I think the Annual Passholder program is here to stay. When any sort of announcement is made about resuming sales of the Annual Pass, you will be able to find all of that information over on the
Disney Parks Blog.
Until the Annual Pass program returns for all Guests to be able to purchase, you have two options for tickets at this time. You can purchase a standard theme park ticket which allows entry into one Walt Disney World Theme Park per day. The other option is to upgrade your standard base ticket to include the park hopper option which allows you to enter multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Park hopping does look a little bit different since its return at the start of this year. If you are wanting to park hop, you must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option. Once your tickets are linked to your MyDisneyExperience account, you'll then need to make
park pass reservations for an initial theme park each day. On that day, you'll need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to another park. Park hopper hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evening. Once your initial park pass reservation is made, you do not need to make additional ones throughout the day to park hop. To make park hopping a little bit easier on Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being offered at this time.
Amy, I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to join the Walt Disney World Annual Pass family very soon. If you have any other questions about the Annual Pass program or anything else, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
