Hi Marie, and welcome to planDisney!
Magic Kingdom Park is the quintessential Walt Disney World Resort theme park because of its magical history; however, these days, it is even more of a hot commodity due to the opening of the ah-mazing
TRON Lightcycle / Run and the return of Mouseketeer-favorites like the Walt Disney World Railroad and the
Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular.
With that being said, there is always a possibility, especially on the weekends, that
Magic Kingdom Park can reach capacity. But I have good news! Because the policy is essentially the same at Magic Kingdom Park on the weekends as it was before the recent change, as an
Annual Passholder, you can indeed make a theme park reservation for another theme park and park hop over to Magic Kingdom Park after 2 p.m. (without a second reservation).
AN EXTRA GEM: For what it's worth, it is very rare for the theme parks to reach capacity. And if it does happen, you should get a notification within the
My Disney Experience app that one or more of the parks have reached that point. Worst-case scenario: You can continue to enjoy your day at the theme park you started in, or visit another park or
Disney Springs for more fun!
Please revisit us here at planDisney, Marie, if you have any other questions about your upcoming trips to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
I'm all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
