Hello, I was an annual pass holder for many years and my pass expired when the parks were closed last year. Is it possible to renew my pass this year? I am a Florida resident. Thank you.

Hello, Daniel! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I, too, have been a Walt Disney World annual passholder for many years now and also really enjoy the program. I know you've got to be missing being able to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks whenever you'd like.

Daniel, since the reopening of Walt Disney World last year, the sale of new annual passes has been currently suspended. I don't have any news on when the program might return for Guests to purchase. When an announcement is made, however, we will be able to find out all of the details on the Disney Parks Blog. I don't think the program is going anywhere though, so no worries there! Currently, Guests whose passes are about to expire are being able to renew at this time. Also, Guests that received a refund on their passes instead of an extension last summer are currently able to purchase a new annual pass on a case-by-case basis. I can't foresee it being too much longer until the annual pass program is opened back up to the general public.

Because you are a Florida resident, you are able to take advantage of a great deal on tickets at the moment. Right now you are able to save 40% on a 4-day ticket or 30% off of a 3-day ticket. That's a great deal! You'll even be able to verify your residency online so you don't have to waste time at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks when you are there. On top of your tickets, keep in mind that you will also need to make a park pass reservation to visit. You can take a look at the Walt Disney World Theme Park availability calendar to get an idea of what park is available on what date. Then once you've purchased your tickets and linked them to your MyDisneyExperience account you can head over to the park pass reservation website to secure your spot. You'll be walked through a prompt of choosing your travel party and then you'll pick a date and a theme park. If everything is set, you'll be given a confirmation and will be able to see all of your park pass reservations on your itinerary found in your MyDisneyExperience account.

Daniel, I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to join the Annual Passholder family very soon. If you have any other questions about the passholder program or anything else, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
